The M.Sc. in Geosciences at JGU Mainz combines application-oriented training with cutting-edge research: students explore key processes of the Earth system – from the formation of rocks and tectonic dynamics to environmental change. The program focuses on changes of the climate and ecosystems, resource availability, and geohazards. Students acquire in-depth methodological skills and are prepared for both academic and practice-oriented career paths.

This master’s program is aimed at graduates of geosciences or related natural sciences who wish to deepen their knowledge and apply it in practical contexts. It addresses students with a strong interest in Earth system processes, changes of climate and ecosystems, and research – both in the field and the lab.
